About Skandia Kollektiv Hair Co.

For Stylists. By Stylists. Always With Integrity.

There was a time when hair could last 8 to 12 months—if you took care of it. It was consistent. Easy to work with. A true partner in the salon. But something changed. The supply chain got faster. The processing got harsher. And suddenly, even the most experienced stylists were questioning their own work.

Clients weren’t the problem. The hair was.

Skandia Was Built for the Stylists Who Knew Better

Skandia Kollektiv Hair Co. was born out of necessity, not opportunity. We were tired of watching quality fall while prices rose. So we started asking questions—and learning the manufacturing lingo no one talks about.

We found out that many suppliers had shifted to a fast fashion model: pushing out volume, cutting corners, and masking inconsistency with packaging. The result? Hair that wouldn’t hold color, textures that broke down early, and stylists stuck apologizing for something that wasn’t their fault.

At Skandia, we decided to build something better.

Integrity First — In Every Strand

We believe boutique hair should mean better hair. Not inflated prices, not mystery margins—just tested, transparent quality. We don’t offer 6 when we know you expect 9 to 12. We don’t change pricing based on who’s asking.

This is professional hair for professionals.

Everyone pays the same. Everyone gets our best.

No Packs. No Overstock. No Guessing.

As stylists, we know the pain of drawers filled with unused inventory—tones that didn’t match, packs you never touched. That’s why we sell in duos, not packs.

You get exactly what you need, without waste.
We test every batch in-house. Use it on our own clients. And only release what meets our real-world performance standards.

Why This Work Matters

Four weeks before opening our salon, life changed forever. My mother was hit by a car and became a double bi-lateral amputee. Our family dropped everything to care for her. During that time, I started questioning whether opening a salon even made sense.

But then I saw the power of hair in a new light.

After multiple surgeries, my mother began losing her hair. She didn’t need a makeover—she needed to feel like herself again. When she tried Natural Beaded Rows and smiled at her reflection, I realized that this work isn’t about vanity. It’s about identity.

That belief is woven into everything we do at Skandia. From our salon chairs to our supply chain, it’s all about transformation—crafted with care, and built with integrity.

Meet Britta Van Boerum

Founder. Stylist. Relentless Advocate for Quality.

Britta Van Boerum didn’t set out to become a supplier. She set out to become the kind of stylist clients could trust—and other stylists could turn to for honest answers.

After years of working behind the chair, educating new artists, and troubleshooting install issues that kept coming back to the hair itself, Britta realized the root problem: the supply chain had changed, and no one was talking about it. Manufacturers were cutting corners. Quality was dropping. Stylists were stuck making it work—and taking the blame.

So she changed the game.

With the same precision she brings to every install, Britta spent years sourcing, testing, and vetting every manufacturer she could find. Not on paper—in real salons, on real people, over real time. When she couldn’t find what she needed, she built it herself.

Today, Skandia Kollektiv Hair Co. is the result of that commitment. Every batch reflects Britta’s belief that stylists deserve better. And every stylist who joins Skandia is welcomed not just as a customer—but as a collaborator.

“If I wouldn’t wear it myself, I won’t sell it to you.”
